报告摘要:Simulating quantum many-body systems represents a great challenge inphysics. I will discuss two approaches to tackle this problem. The firstapproach is to build a simulator that can mimic the behavior of certainquantum systems that are difficult to study otherwise. In this regard, cold atoms, due to their controllability, have emerged as an idealquantum simulation platform. I will use one particular example toillustrate this, that is how to simulate the effect of synthetic gaugefield and spin-orbit coupling in neutral atoms. The second approach isto develop new computational tools to simulate certain quantum systemsin classical computers. I will discuss recent effort in combiningmachine learning and quantum Monte Carlo simulation to solve quantummany-body problems.
